A. Develop leading international programs on campus and among veterinary professionals that prepare students, faculty, staff, and veterinary professionals to excel in our global society.
B. Develop internationally recognized signature research programs by doubling sponsored research funding in the next 5-10 years.
C. Integrate new technologies for educational delivery, such as distance learning, to enhance learning among students, veterinary professionals, clients, and the public.
D. Enhance engagement and outreach activities through support of professional development programs for administration, faculty, staff and students, resulting in high quality public relations and communication with the veterinary profession, the scientific community, our clients, and the community.
E. Increase collaboration with Purdue’s academic units, Discovery Park, industry, and other research institutions to develop leading programs in comparative medicine and public health.
F. Enhance our position as a national leader in veterinary technology education.
G. Increase enrollment in our programs by increasing the size, diversity, and quality of the applicant pool, and creating recruitment and admissions strategies and procedures that target high-performing and diverse populations
The mission of the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine is to serve the people, the animals, and the environment of
Learning: To educate and prepare students to become lifelong learners and productive members of the veterinary and biomedical communities.
Discovery: To generate and communicate knowledge in veterinary medicine, comparative biomedical sciences, public health, and food animal production.
Engagement: To provide service and apply knowledge for the enhancement of animal and human health and well-being.
